CFS Fundraising January Sale
This year our January sale will have a slight twist, I am selecting a range of products which will be reduced to below cost price to $75, of this I will be donating $25 from each sale to local CFS stations like Mt Torrens to help them raise money to install a sprinkler system for their station, this will protect their station & the volunteer's cars if another fire occurs in the region. These sale products will also have free shipping.
I have made my own personal contributions to the CFS to support our amazing volunteers & The Adelaide Hills Wine appeal which will support smaller growers & producers it the Adelaide Hills region, I hope to be able to make further contributions with these sale items.
An Update : I have made two donations, the first to Mt Torrens CFS station & the second to Upper Sturt CFS brigade, above is a photo of me with some of the members of the Upper Sturt Brigade at the Adelaide Hills Council Australia Day celebrations this year, I took the opportunity to donate while at the January Stirling market, 26th January. I will make a third donation once the remainder of the stock has sold, to a third station, I love getting the funds directly where it is needed.
I have come to discover it is actually quite complicated to donate to the brigades directly, as I understand it they are funded by the government but still need to do extra fundraising to repair & invest in new equipment. The first donation was direct deposited into the Mt Torrens CFS bank account as they published it on faceook, they have since taken it down. I also dropped into a few CFS stations in the hills trying to donate closer to Christmas & that was also tricky as well, as obviously volunteers don't man the sheds all the time. So if you want to help the brigades individually it might take a little bit more time & effort but in my opinion its worthwhile and you might just get a photo with the Captain! Thank you so very much for your help in raising these funds. x Kalila
